Sequence Grabbing Requirements

MacOS X Windows
Machine Intel-based Mac recommended. Intel Core Duo or better.
Video input PCI video capture board or USB camera or FireWire camera with appropriate driver (VDIG) PCI video capture board or USB camera or FireWire camera with appropriate WDM driver supported by WinVDIG (see below).
Audio input Built-in or external audio input. DirectSound compatible sound card (natively supported by QuickTime for Windows).
System software

Windows drivers

WinVDIG is a video digitizer that bridges the gap between QuickTime and Windows capture drivers. WinVDIG creates virtual VDIGs for installed WDM (Windows Driver Model) and VfW (Video for Windows) capture drivers, allowing QuickTime-based applications to capture video using hardware that lacks QuickTime support (a VDIG).

Macam by Matthias Krauss is an open-source video digitizer for USB-based cameras on MacOSX. The project initially supported a few Philips models, but it has evolved to cover a range of models from other manufacturers as well.
