QMedia Movie clipboard commands

QM_Paste

QM_Paste(movieRef):error
movieRef Longint Movie reference
error Longint Error result

Inserts the contents of the clipboard into a movie.

Parameter movieRef is the reference to the movie instance. The movie reference must have been previously obtained with a call to QM_NewMovieFromFile.

If the specified movie is currently assigned to a movie plug-in area, the "paste" operation can be un-done by calling the QM_Undo command.

QMedia creates a movie from the clipboard's content (the source movie), and inserts the new movie into the destination movie. All tracks of the new movie are placed in the destination movie.

The source movie is inserted at the starting point of the current selection.

After the paste operation, the current selection start time is unchanged, and the selection duration is set to the source movie's duration.

Whenever possible, QuickTime uses existing tracks to store the data to be pasted. Before adding a track to the destination movie, it looks in the destination movie for tracks that have the same characteristics as the tracks in the source movie. If an appropriate track is not found in the destination movie, a new track with the proper characteristics is created. Any empty tracks are removed from the destination movie after the paste operation.
